Staples vs Wire Stitchers

Carton closing staples for bottom box closure come in two limited styles:

  • Sticks – good for low volume corrugated stapling applications, but they can be expensive, and come in limited preset sizes. Downtime to reload.

  • Coils or rolls – good for medium volume corrugated box stapling applications, can also be an expensive consumable, and also require downtime to reload.

Next, let’s talk wire stitchers.

Wire stitching machines come in many versions and are very adjustable:

  • Spool of wire – Good for low, medium or high-volume box stitching. Comes in many different sizes and stitch length is infinitely adjustable. Very low downtime since spools produce tens of thousands of staples per roll. Inexpensive overall cost for the entire spool of wire. The machines are investments and last decades with minimal maintaining and lubrication.
